V. Rev. Archpriest Father Marijan Procyk <\/strong>served as Chaplain of St. Sophia Religious Association of Ukrainian Catholics, Inc. in Philadelphia, PA (1980-1988) and became a member of the Board in 2010.<\/p>

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Fr. Marijan was born June 18,\u00a01952 in Mari\u0107ka, Bosnia and Herzegovina (Yugoslavia). \u00a0He studied Philosophy and Theology in Visoko and Sarajevo (Bosnia), Zagreb (Croatia) and Rome (Italy). He was married to Marija Petelj (+November 29, 2006) with whom he sired 6 children: Phillip, Alexander, Stephen, Maria Franka, Nadia Lubov and Joseph Andrew (+June 1, 2014).<\/p>

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 He was ordained deacon by Bishop Isydor Borecky in Castelgandolfo (Rome) in October of 1980 and ordained\u00a0into the priesthood by Patriarch Josyf Slipyj in Castelgandolfo (Rome) on November 21, 1980. He was made Archpriest on June 8, 2005 by Bishop Basil Losten.<\/p>

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Fr. Marijan served as Chaplain of the Sisters of St. Basil the Great, OSBM, in Philadelphia, PA in 1982.\u00a0 He was the administrator of St. Josaphat, New Britain, CT from 1988 until 1990 as well as administrator of St. Michael, Terryville, CT in 1990.\u00a0 Since 1990, fr. Marijan has been Pastor of St. Nicholas, in Buffalo, NY and the Director of Apostleship of Prayer for Stamford Eparchy in 1991. He was Protopresbyter of the Buffalo Deanery from 1996 until 2014.\u00a0 From 1996 until 2010, he was a member of Presbyteral Council and has been the Spiritual Director of LUC Niagara Frontier since 1995. He has been the Spiritual Director of LUC National Board since 2003.<\/p>

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 His is a Chess Expert according to the U.S. Chess Federation with a rating of around 2100. Fr. Marijan has organized two invitational tournaments: one honoring Patriarch Josyf Slipyj in 1982, and another honoring Prof. Stepan A. M. Popel in 1984.\u00a0 From those tournaments he published booklets with all games and commentaries and later published 2 more booklets from USCAK Tournaments for 1986 and 1988. He was also conducting annual USCAK Tournaments for a few years.<\/p>
