The work on this book began in 1993. The  Independence of Ukraine and the approaching  400th anniversary of the Union of Brest provided the inspiration for compiling this album and for traveling to Ukraine.  I have visited Ukraine approximately twenty times, I have crossed the country on a track that must be over 40,000 km long,  and  I  brought from the travels thousands of photographs and numerous pleasant memories about the country and the people.
