The eyes of the world are glued to the atrocities of the full-scale war that Russia has declared for Ukraine. We all see the universal principles of peaceful coexistence ruined by Russia and its President. Each of us, Ukrainians, in one way or another, is united with our homeland through prayer and multifaceted support. Official news from different parts of Ukraine are beyond words.
As of today, refugees from the central, eastern and southern regions of Ukraine are arriving in Ternopil region, searching for safety and shelter. Our wounded soldiers receive medical support in the local hospitals. Territorial defense units are being formed to protect citizens in all towns and villages of the region. The needs are many, and St. Sophia Religious Association of Ukrainian Catholics, Inc. has responded to pleas from Ternopil, Pidvolochysk and Zazdrist, Patriarch Josyf Slipyj’s village, to support them in these turbulent times. At this time, we are accepting medical aid and protective clothing itemized in the letters below.
Donations are accepted at St. Sophia office at: 7911 Whitewood Rd., Elkins Park, PA 19027.
