Alexandra (Lesia) Holowchak – biography

MEMBER OF THE BOARD

Alexandra (Lesia) Holowchak has been a member of St. Sophia Religious Association of Ukrainian Catholics, USA, since 2017.

     Lesia is a bookkeeper for Breckstone Architecture-A Martin Architectural Group Studio. In 1973 she was baptized and confirmed by Patriarch Josyf Slipyj during his visit to Philadelphia, PA.

     She graduated maxima cum laude from LaSalle University (Philadelphia, PA) in 1995 with a B.S. in Accounting. After graduating, she secured a position with CIGNA Insurance Company where she worked for over thirteen years.

   A graduate of ‘Ridna Shkola’ (Ukrainian School,) Lesia passed the matura comprehensive exams with top honors. From early childhood, she is a member of PLAST and currently belongs to the kurin “Chortopolokhy.”

    Her parents, Julian and Olena Holowchak, dedicated their life’s work to many Ukrainian organizations including PLAST, ‘Ridna Shkola,’ and St. Sophia Religious Association of Ukrainian Catholics, USA, as well as to the Ukrainian Catholic Church and imbued their children with their strong sense of duty and service to the Ukrainian community. In this spirit, Lesia followed in her father’s footsteps when she served as Treasurer for St. Sophia Religious Association of Ukrainian Catholics, USA and currently is on its Board of Directors.
