Oksana Kobuley (née Herechko) – biography

SECRETARY

Oksana Kobuley (née Herechko) was the office manager of the St Sophia Religious Association of Ukrainian Catholics, USA (TSSA) from 2018 until 2023 and was elected to the Executive Board as Secretary in 2019.

     Oksana was born in the city of Lviv, Ukraine, to the family of Maria and Ihor and grew up surrounded by the love of her parents and older brother.  She graduated from the Ivan Franko National University in Lviv after receiving her M.A. in Political Science.  In recent years, she combined her studies with work at the Department of Political Science at the Ivan Franko National University. 

     After completing her studies, she worked as an assistant to the head of the Lviv Press Club, which organized and held public events and press conferences on social, medical, economic, and political topics. From 2006 to 2010, she worked as the head of the marketing department of the Western region of the Industrial Bank in Ukraine.

     In 2010 Kobuley moved to the United States of America and taught Ukrainian language and culture in the upper level classes of the Ukrainian Heritage School in Jenkintown, PA. She also worked as an administrative assistant at the Ukrainian Educational and Cultural Center (UECC) and is a member of the Board of Directors at the Ukrainian Library of UECC.
