Ulana Prociuk (née Mychajluk) – biography

Ulana Prociuk (née Mychajluk) is a dynamic activist in the Ukrainian Community. From a young age together with her sisters, they participated in sundry Ukrainian events reciting poems of famous Ukrainian poets. She belongs to various Ukrainian organizations in which she holds sundry posts and carries out countless duties. Among them are the Shevchenko Scientific Society, Organization for the Rebirth of Ukraine, St. Sofia, Hutzul Organization Cheremosh and Ukrainian National Women’s League of America branch 88 being its secretary from 2006-2009 and president from 2010-2018.

    After high school, she attended The National School of Health Technology and earned a degree in Registered Medical Assistant and Registered Technologist. Afterwards she received a B.S. in International Health – Disease and Society from University of PA.

She worked as a clinical cytogeneticist at St. Christopher Hospital for Children from 1980 until 1988. From 1988 until 2013, she worked at Matthew Ryan Veterinary Hospital University of PA as a research specialist in Medical Genetics (where she ran the cytogenetics lab). From 2013 until 2020, she worked in the clinical lab.
